It’s not pish though,,here is the first paragraph of Esme’s post:
Suicide rates across the UK are generally falling, but the latest statistics, show that the Bridgend rates were higher than the national average. When one follows another in quick succession, the temptation to link the deaths, inadvertently or in banner headlines, can prove too much. From this, a suicide cluster may be born.
The way the public, the television, press and official facilities have all interacted has created a phenomenon that has gone beyond suicideFrom the Sunday Herald:
I have highlighted Esme’s errm quotes:
Paragraph 20: Suicide rates across the UK are generally falling, but the latest statistics, show that the Bridgend rates were higher than the national average.Suicide rates across the UK are generally falling, but the latest statistics (up to 2006), show that the Bridgend rates were higher than the national average. In 2006, three young men took their lives in the town, and since then the number has risen to nine.
Paragraph 22: When one follows another in quick succession, the temptation to link the deaths, inadvertently or in banner headlines, can prove too much. From this, a suicide cluster may be born.
Paragraph 2: “The way the public, the television, press and official facilities have all interacted has created a phenomenon that has gone beyond suicide,” says Phil Jones, a research fellow at Swansea University. “The phenomenon is now Bridgend and that is beginning to affect everyone involved.”

27 February, 2008 at 1:13 am #313416I await…..i canny be ersed . I had a great pal.9 years i talked to her.met her 12 times..daft times like picnics in Bromley..drunken weekends with Mick in Newcastle. and the times i sat there and laughed and laughed.
she went a bit quiet on me..and it bugged me.as we spoke every day for 9 years,we were pen pals,we laughed and shared christmases together !she went ill,,cancer of the liver and NO she did NOT drink ! within 5 weeks of being diagnosed and being told she had 6 months. she died. I went to see her..to make her laugh,as we had our own language, our own destination. I got to Surrey sunday night,,and went to Kent on the Monday,,and missed her,,she died before i got to tell her i loved her…
I miss her terribly.sorely and horribly.
she was my bestest pal ! and i Pine for her so.
9 years ! ooh the laughs.
and i KNOW what tommy means when he says he contacts someone.
i dream of her coming online.i dream of us meeting again.and we will !

not at all sharon..Esme is the most lovliest person i will never meet ! i CANT EVEN TELL YA WHAT SHE HAS DONE !
she would kill me .. to belittle her,,och,i get embarrassed for folks. She is the most intelligent person i know. they are picking on her,,as she chose a passage. a fvcking thing to put up! while she admits she is a non expert on fecking Wales.!! put it THIS way,,i knew they were NOT her words,,as the words were NOT clever enough to come from a genuis !
No one is picking on her……..you are making this into a drama…anyone knows ( even the most intelligent person you know) that you do not take anothers words without a quote or a link, let alone chop it up and use it verbatim..someone spotted it..it was wrong and you know that! Let it go.
nah i disagree…she never ONCE used ” verbatim!” she does not HAVE to ! and it was your “pal” that made out she did…We are both Scots ! she put up a point and was blazed down ,for a mere opinion !
whats the problem folks ?? I re-read the peice. yer nit picking !
yet Ironically she could HAVE written an opinion ! FAR superior to the fooking “herald”
I dont even “need” to tell her this..
ya eejits !
