I worked with John Temple… HONEST !!! …. he was the director with “corrie” for years. And Oliver Horsburgh,
I got called to Cowcaddens in Glasgow for a “meet”..and sat there for near 2 hours laughing with the man ! i kinda “forgot” i was there to seek work,as all around him were the original actors of Corrie.
I got home 4 hours later to be told ” ya HAVE the job” …oh happy days !
was tender Pats..did you ever watch the final Royle Family ( queen of Sheba) ?? heck i even went out and bought it..some acting skills and sheer brilliance in writing CANNOT be ignored !!

Bunny Youens was an excellent actor despite a stroke !
I was actually really dissapointed ! as the acting skills in Corrie are usually brilliant,,it seemed hurried and not very well thought out. I admit Bill Tarney ( jack) is getting older now,but i thought it as a blase approach ! Whilst admitting the final Scene with the beloved Pidgeons WAS a wee bit moving.I expected much more for a celebrated character like Liz Dawn…
no one EVER did it like Hilda,,with Stan Ogdens glasses..now THAT was award winning !
