I quite agree with what has been said about the run up starting way too early. My memories as a kids was quite often the tree never went up til the 23rd sometimes christmas eve …. well it was quite often “borrowed” from the local estate. :wink: :-
Mum always bought a wooden box of satsuma’s from the greengrocers. They were the sweetest yummiest ever. My sisters & I got through them at a rate of knots. That along with the walnut shells all over the carpet, where dad has sat in his chair devouring nuts til his hearts content much to mum’s frustration & our pain when we stood on them. :lol:
I saw that Asda were selling the wooden boxes of satsuma’s last year but they were extortionately expensive & I bet they wouldn’t of tasted as nice as the ones we enjoyed as kids.
