lol thanks MJ :) xx..
Yep, with Easter coming so early this year it cast a slight bit of confusion on to the whole St. Patrick’s gig.
Basically, no other Holy Day can be celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church within Easter’s Holy Week (not too sure if that applies to the other Christian communities actually).
So, with St. Patrick’s Day (always March 17th) falling on the Monday of Holy Week, and Sunday the 16th being Palm Sunday, the official CHURCH celebration was Saturday the 15th this year.
Now, I stress CHURCH because the NATIONAL holiday was (and remains) The 17th. Yesterday was our National bank holiday :) .
So, in many respects we had TWO St. Patrick’s Days this year :D .Confused?
You should be..
It is the Irish afterall  .17 March, 2008 at 6:44 pm #318102Tut! [-X .. how rude!

17 March, 2008 at 6:19 pm #318099Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer’s gone, and all the flowers are dying
‘Tis you, ’tis you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow
‘Tis I’ll be there in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You’ll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an “Ave” there for me.And I shall hear, tho’ soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you’ll not fail to tell me that you love me
I’ll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.16 March, 2008 at 10:26 pm #318098Actually, Padraic is an acceptable spelling too.. used in many parts here. So don’t fret about it mo cuishla
