Recovery starts very early on, whilst you are still a user and you’ve admitted to the problem, that is recovery, the first step to recovery.

The rehab unit I have to visit on a weekly basis through work is full of people without a penny, they leave the clinic clean after being on a course of Librium and can return as often as they need, for councelling or futher rehab programs.

I feel the same about Amy Winehouse as I do the people who are homeless and are taking the same shyte… how can anybody judge?

It is as some intrest with us older generations as routines can occur when it comes to sex.

I now work with people that abuse drugs and alcohol, I see some pitiful states, I can’t help feeling for them as people, I used to be an addict, I am not shameful, it was part of my life, I cleaned up my act eventually, I have been lucky.
Amy is a talent and anyone saying she isn’t is plain stupid or ignorant, she’s got issues, so what, can’t anyones heart go out to such a troubled soul?

All I can say is,I am glad I didn’t have to listen to such bigotted views when I was on my journey to recovery, I had support and respect from those close to me, it’s unfortunate that not everyone is of the same ilk.
