    So . . we have a new topic to debate . . today’s Budget !!!

It appears at first glance that families have been hit hard ! Child benefit frozen, Housing benefit capped ( although I do agree with that one, too many people claim HB living in properties bigger than necessary with high rents ), VAT increased, Other benefits cut, single parents expected to return to work once their youngest child is in school.

I picked a fine time to give up work to return to study

Whilst I agree too many are happy to sit home all day and let the state keep them every situation is different.

Juggling working and childcare and having quality family time is not always easy. Childcare is not readily available and wages often are not enough to cover childcare and travel costs on top of normal household expenses to make it possible to work! I’m also wondering where all the jobs are going to materialise for everyone who is now supposed to go out to work.

I can see a new era of latchkey kids ( which will no doubt produce a new generation of child crime and increased deliquency ).

But hey, it doesn’t matter because they haven’t added any duty to alcohol, tobacco and fuel . . ( and the increased child element of tax credits will help to purchase these items )

I shall revisit this once I have read it thoroughly and digested it properly, this is just a quick overview of what I watched !
