So it would be better to lie and say ‘I’ll get back to you’? The woman that didn’t take her on will learn a huge lesson from this. Do not reveal the reason why you are not employed. The culture and decision has been set to quite simply lie.
If I (or you) went to an interview for say, Harrords, in jeans and the person said ‘we don’t take people in jeans’… would you sue them for that? Would you ask what the alternative was? Would you conform?
If you went for an actors/actresses role for say Romeo, or Oberon and said ‘sorry I only wear muslim clothes’ would you get the job? Everything has a place in life… there is nothing racist for turning that person down.
It’s utter bollocks, in my opinion, to defend this decision.
And see if you got the same decision in Iran or Libya or any of those countries. They’d tell you to get back to where you came from as quickly as you got there.
Sorry in my opinion, this is defending the indefensible.
