because sadly PB friends isnt a studio based comedy well it is in the sense that is/was filmed in a studio but they used a live audience each show. if you sat round in 4s then how could the audience see the people properly??
BUT!!! on another note!! YES MINISTER!! now there was a show! very ahead of its time if you watch it back again now PB you will see things they joked about then becoming reality now! but a very funny tv show.
we are all mere mortals though cas!

you seem to forget that nurses fire firhgters ambulance drivers etc etc etc like something to watch when they get home to break from normality i think that these soaps probably help them in a way
i wouldnt watch a programme every week for years a few times a week that was a camera following a nurse or an ambulance driver or a firefighter around the place it would bore me and i like some non reality stuff now and then so a soap is good for people
my particular favourite real life friend thing is turning up to the pub late! and having a table of friends all shout whaayyyyyyyyy
makes me feel so popular

a friend of mines nan went to get a house from the council he had a child and behind the counter was a very surly looking white man!! and he said there was nothing he could do!
although iv nothing against white people i dont see how they think they can speak to people like that!!i wont talk from experience in that iv never needed to go to a council office apart from the odd parking ticket (given to me by a WHITE!! traffic warden!!!!)
but i find that its anyone who works there seems to have lost their personality.
