Frog Poem
Hey Mr Frog can I give you a kiss?
I’ll sweet talk you and love you and be your miss?
You could gribbit on my shoulder and eat your bugs
I will give you devotion and so many hugs
Hey Mr Greenie can I show you what’s new?
In your own little world there’s been only you
Oh from the exception of those porno mag’s
And the ribbing from your mate’s gosh such funny gags?
Hey Mr Tongue shall I lend you my ear?
Listen to your ramblings that you hold so dear?
You rant and you rave and you know it all
Funny how you do when you are so VERY small
Hey Mr Scaly can I share your lillypad?
I just hate to see you so lonely and sad
It doesn’t matter that I am prettier than you
I did say I’d be here and have tadpoles with you
Hey Mr Blotchy can I buy you a line?
I’ve waited forever and its been some time?
Something is wrong, you’re still green and small?
Are you a real frog after all????
Hey Mr Strange one who I kissed and still remained
An ugly frog and not even tamed?
Our babies so lovely, it seems so very odd
They are normal? Not Green?, they are not like a frog?
Hey Mr Froggie, my affectionate term
I don’t think you realise or have due concern
That you are at fault and that you are the one
Who will need to remain with the other pond scum
Hey Mr Lonely and still BUT A FROG
I don’t share your lillypad youre alone on YOUR LOG
I kissed and I kissed but to NO avail
Youre a frog a TRUE FROG!! I WAS DESTINED TO FAIL
I am sorry Mr Froggie but I do wish you well
You in your swamp where you will ALWAYS dwell
Birds and frogs just don’t get along
I wont miss your gribbits and the way you pong
It’s regrettable Mr Pongie that you were stuck to your cause
You know youre a frog but always awaited applause
You waited and you waited and you will wait all your life
Youre only hope now is to find a frog for your wife!!
Hey make no mistakes I don’t hate little frogs
Free to live undisturbed in their smelly wee bogs
But just look out for real frogs and ‘I told you so’
There are no ‘princes’ just frogs you don’t want to know

9 October, 2017 at 11:02 am #1074598With the last line?
Yeah was a little harsh.
9 October, 2017 at 11:07 am #1074599Perhaps it was harsh, but then coming from the marsh, stop all the moans and to pass use the stepping stones.
9 October, 2017 at 9:27 pm #1074697This is my favourite of the poems posted here today.
It keeps true to a single image, and develops it. It’s humorous, and clever. It maintains a nice sense of rhythm all the way through, and the rhythm reflects the subject of the small man who has puffed himself up, and is being reminded that he’s only puffed himself up.
Well done on this one!
