Sleep is a seduction that beckons to you, it wants you to lay horizontal when the day is through.
if you mess with sleep it will silently wait……then catch you unawares as your eyes are still trying to see straight.
You can hold sleep off for quite a long time, but never be fooled, sleep has all the time in the world,
‘Cause just when you think you are starting to climb…..sleep strikes hard…all it’s tenticles unfurled…….
Sleep is an enemy ’cause it’s no friend of mine……i want to stay awake but sleep shouts…It’s timeeeeee
Sleep is also a friend as it knows when it’s the end and you’ll wake with a cheer as a new day is near.

Very good really enjoyed that.
I wasn’t as keen on the last line as it didn’t feel in keeping with the tone of the rest of the poem.
Up until that point I imagined a big puma creeping up on me about to leap and put me out lol.
A good poem makes you think.

it would be better if it had more of a sense of rhythm, mister q. Read the first line out loud, and you should see what I mean. Rhyme is no the most important thing in a poem.
