Oh scep. Lol. You honestly think Korea going to change after 60 years… just had this discussion early am hour. Maybe try for awhile. Old timers in that Country and the people will not make change. Give them “A” for effort.. young leader educated here. Smart guy, in my opinion..Think has opportunity to try, make change. Not going to be easy to move his people forward, again my opinion. Trump giving one chance…

    Linda,

Trump is starting a trade war. He says that trade wars are good. Tht’s because it’s the only language he understands. He says the US will always win trade wars, because they’re so strong.

    But nobody wins trade wars.

If it’s bluster, we’ll soon see, but he’s getting a reputation for unpredictability and bullying. Policy is being run by tweet, and the tweets are being issued according to one man’s mood and his whimsy.

The ‘beggar-my-neighbour’ trade wars of the 30s prepared the way for real wars. That’s why trade wars have been seen as anathema sine that time. Now here we are again.

“Pity the nation whose people are sheep,
    and whose shepherds mislead them.
Pity the nation whose leaders are liars, whose sages are silenced,
and whose bigots haunt the airwaves.
Pity the nation that raises not its voice,
except to praise conquerors and acclaim the bully as hero
and aims to rule the world with force and by torture.
Pity the nation that knows no other language but its own
and no other culture but its own.
Pity the nation whose breath is money
and sleeps the sleep of the too well fed.
Pity the nation — oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode
and their freedoms to be washed away.
My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty.”

The tree falling down isn’t a spur for weak jokes by people trying to stop all serious discussion..

Trump has given the go-ahead for environmental damage in a multutude of dangerous ways, including allowing offshore drilling in nearly all US waters. This is the largest expansion of offshore oil and gas leasing to big companies ever proposed. This inlcudes regions that were long declared to be out of bounds to development for their natural beauty and endangered species.

It is also a mark of Trump’s war on the planet in his announcement that he is puling the US out of the Paris climate agreement. He has announced plans for an increased use of fossil-fuels and to limit the protection of air and water quality within the US by the Environmental Protection Agency.

We’ll all be affected as the attempts to reduce global warming are reversed.
