Anybody know what I’m on about? Ok I shall tell you well according to the all seeing oracle the font of all knowledge I don’t do names but tree reckons this site shuts down on 23rd March next year is he right does anybody else know about this?
Nope. I know female forum is closing at the end of December this year.
Maybe the Hosts have heard something? Having said that surely if that was the case..Martin would announce it here?

Its not been the best of mornings for me today so i thought i would vent with an explaination i dont really like being misqouted.
I have made comments about the 23/3/2023 but i am hearing either in here or in the room
people misquoting which is the order of the day in JC but i want to put the record straight nowBoo – I have never said we will be getting new owners
Le – I do know nowt about what martin is going to do but facts are facts and I have never said anything other but as you only believe what you hear from the horses mouth i will try and do that now.
Jolly roger – you heard it from the horses mouth and yet you get it totally wrong and put your own manipulated twist on it i need to say no more
Most people take this place for granted as i do but martin has some hidden responsibilities that he has to abide financially to keep his chatsite live. My comments were about i wonder how long that can last and wanted to hi-light to some it may not.
What i have actually said was the domain is up for renewal on 23/3/2023 if martin does decide not to renew, we won’t have a website to log into. Yes, this is true I don’t know what Martin will decide to do but that renewal of the domain is fact.
Taking into account that there is no one here other than 5 people and the room can be silent for days on end and i dont see masses of people registering its common sense to wonder how long this will go on for.A domain name costs £12.50 per year and is due for payment every 2 years so this is £25 payment that martin has to settle before the 23/3/2023. No website can continue without this payment of registration. This is fact
The chat rooms for JC when i looked 2 years ago the cheapest fee was £10 a month. this is a further payment that martin may have to pay. The cost could be more than that for all I know but that’s the smallest fee that the hosting chat company charge.
So, you don’t have to be any great mathematician to work out that this comes as a price for Martin of £132.50 per year.
For Martin to just break even he would need 13/14 newly paid registered chatters every year. This is what i based my comments on. I actually thought there was a good chance that martin wouldnt renew last time but he did so who knows what He’s choice will be this time its wait and see.
What I do know is that I will miss this place so I hope he does renew but I am thinking if it was me and the lack of interest people have coming here now, and I would also question is it really financially viable to continue.
I hope that clears it up finally and i won’t comment about it again.
Will take this opportunity to say sorry to martin for taking his name in vain and thank him for keeping the site open i was just trying to make the point that this site isnt just a given to be always here.

Quotes in JC are given a good old massage that’s all Tree, as you well know. I have not been around much lately…I don’t really know why really but when I do log into the chat room we do have some good fun. Of course it will be a shame if this places closes and I suspect there will be no notice…..if we don’t use it we will lose it.
If I remember I will do a farewell post just before the above date mentioned
, I might do a juicy one, mentioning names, friends, enemies, frenemies and of course my 638 JC lovers.But joking aside the guides have had the most impossible job here sometimes. And myself included could never know the full extent of their time, effort and earbashing taken for which all boils down to childish behaviour from grown adults. It sometimes takes a while to realise closing the JC page down actually gets rid of all the nastiness lots of us have been on the receiving end of.
I am getting old and sentimental in my old age…as u can tell

Yeah i can understand not being about as much we all experience coming into an empty room and being the only one in. We are all busy doing stuff outside now and there is so few of us that we can easily hit and miss chat times. So it isn’t fun being in the room at quiet times and it just makes the enthusiasm to log in next time a little less. This of course has a snowball effect on all of us.

Just to clarify … ‘Cosy says we are getting new owners …….. so does Tree’ I did say that … and I was taking the piss…. But vent away Tree – I’m back less than a week and you are venting about my ‘misquoting’ you :) I shall try not to get under your skin again… but I make no promises x

I myself have enjoyed my 12 years in JC, lots ofups and downs, but thru the years I have made good friends. Nothing is free in this life, have we contribute to this fate by not paying the dues, and along for the ride? Martin has a family to support and he charges very little. compare to other chats, like for instant the German chat that cost $30.00. Most chat run $20 dollars per month or a year. Some people in here get their kicks by running people down. does that made them any better in the long run. Some people tied up the chat with their silly arguments. who want,s to hear that day after day. so Martin you did your part and thanks now it is time to move ahead, Possibility thinkers win over seemingly odds. LS
