14 September, 2007 at 5:38 pm #287522The main problem with all laptops is simple one.
You drop them, their f u c k e d.
I would never dream of spending £700 on a laptop.
First their processors are not that good, they all run on shared ram and they are out of date in about 18 months.
You can’t really upgrade them easily and over all most people would be better off with a desktop computer.
If you are going to buy a laptop, get a cheap one.

Im with you on that though, cos if your lappys mouse or keyboard go wrong its a lot of work to sort out. If it happens to your pc its easily replaced. Same with speakers.

No .. Maxdata (like practically all computer manufacturers) use components made by other specialists to construct their computers. With a Maxdata computer, because it is built to order, the customer can specify what configuration they require in terms of say motherboard, processor, peripheral drives and so on – as well as how much RAM you want etc etc.
Generally they use Maxtor hard discs but you could specify Seagate for example, if that was what you wanted. Maxdata were the first European manufacturer to move away from making a set range of models and holding them in stock, as this always caused obsolescence issues – in say 2 months the configuration became obsolete as the market moved on and in essence your stock became pretty much unsaleable.
