Okay, just which programme is the best to have on your PC ????

I have a number of anti-spyware/adware programmes [along with firewall/anti-virus] and everytime I try a new one it finds a load that the others didn’t.

    FFS

I keep everything up-to-date so that isn’t the problem – but all I want is for my laptop to be in the best shape it can – and oh how I try to do that !

    Any suggestions ?

I have the same problem Morty- I can’t find one to suit all, so I have 4- run them all once a week

For Free.. Adaware and Spybot seem to be the best, however I support them with Spyblaster which stops a load of spyware getting through

Free for virus scan is AVG and seems pretty comprehensive-

Cutting the cr*p- looks like you’re gonna need more than one

Hijackthis is a really good at scanning your registry too

    Well I have:-

    – AVG
    – Adaware
    – Spyware Blaster
    – Spybot Search & Destroy
    – Doctor Alex
    – Ewido
    – Microsoft Antispyware
    – NTL Netguard
    – HijackThis
    – Tune Up Utilities 2004 [which is great for registry]

Then to top it all off, I tried the one that suggested by dropped-anchor and it found about 14 items that none of the above had found.

I mean how far do you go ?????

I don’t mind having a number of programmes to run – but just the right ones !

    Wow!!!

If anything got through all that lot- it must be very worthy. Don’t know what the answer is then, I thought I was pretty comprehensive on my anti virus and spyware stuff but you take the honeypot.

As a matter of interest, what did dropped suggest? – may try it too!!

The link is on here – the only thing is – it will scan but you have to pay to upgrade it……………

But it did find 14 items the others didn’t. I’m just re-running the others right now and they have found 5 or 6 items between them so will wait until they finish then try this new one again.

So at the moment…………I give up !

    Username: Morticia

    Company: Morty Inc

    License Key: TG6P3KGWGUDE4QLPF5U3YVY53E3SKU

I think Adwarespy has got to be the overall best spy/ad/mal app going.

Cheers SuperA will download this. Although I have to say 2004 has been very good and have been pleased with it :D

Will have a look at Adwarespy.

hijakers/trojans/spyware/adaware/malware, etc. I had a look through them and unticked about 5 which were other Anti Spyware programmes, which means at least 400 nasty germs were infecting my laptop. Suffice to say that I have decided to purchase [yes purchase !] Adwarespy [£23]. Money well spent :D

And TuneUp Utilities 2006 is fab ! my laptop is speedy and will be even better once I get rid of this spyware shyte :D

You’ve made your pc safer by installing more software. The pc takes longer
to start because the new software has to start too.
