something useful on a tip or in a skip
    ive found lots
its not as good now on the tips as they are all containerised now and monitored, but back in the golden ,glorious days there were many gems to be found on the wastelands of tips, i even found my first wife there (tricia) she hadnt been thrown out,she was just looking around for stuff,if any of yuz as read my poem ,love at the tip,you will know what i mean, indeed if anybody wants to read it,i will bang it on the arts bit.
    moving onto skips
well for us seasoned veteran scratters,we encounter yet more problems
bloody alley gates!! grr you know the type, ones that stop us getting down back alleys.
yes i know they are designed to deter burglars
but me and the lads i know arent thieves we are just looking for stuff that the snobbies chuck out.
but hey if you are intrepid and have patience there are still pearls to be found amongst the swine,i.e in the last few months ive found a 3ft mahoghany statue of a woodchopper, complete with axe, two sets of painting stuff, crayons brushes etc,4 pine chairs,a couple of pictures which are not too bad, just looking round my flat now to see what else er speakers a digi box etc,so any of you lot do any scratting, dont knock it it can be very worthwhile and enjoyable if youve got f all else to do,it sure beats crabbing by rock pools or them detector things on the beach.

Did you find your tea cosy pic there? :D

    anc

Opposite me had a skip when they moved out, about 18yrs ago – I still have a rosemary plant I rescued, thriving in France!!

Also, Cosy, I went, about 20 yrs ago, to dump some big cardboard boxes at the local tip – some guy was going to put a vanity table/mirror and a chair in it, all that was wrong with it was that the mirror wouldn’t swivel! – I asked him if I could have it, he said yeah sure, I got it in the back of my car, just, and a m8 of mine fixed it, and I still have it today! :D

Feel a bit guilty about that ‘cos the council give the money, if they sell it, to charity………..well, maybe not too guilty, ‘cos I suspect one of them would have nicked it anyway! Especially as they shouted at me as I was putting it in my car!

2,ive never called kenwood a dipper, rat boy yes
and hes not a scouser he is from s.e london, and reckons hes an ex boxing champion ha ha lol
3,yes i call all scousers dippers, its mainly a football banter song and it goes like this

    in their liverpool home
they look in the dustbins for something to eat
they find a dead cat and they think its a treat
    in their liverpool slum

i however am not a dipper,i am a fine connosieur and purveyor of fine arts and curios
