I’m not saying it’s right, but i can understand why certain people feel the need to cheat the system, especially single mums, single dads etc.
6 October, 2005 at 8:40 pm #150226Truth Be – Known, i’ve wanted to work for the Social – Fraud Squad, but can’t, because of what i mentioned in my above post.
6 October, 2005 at 8:57 pm #150227piff paff … the govt take enough money from us in taxes
Least benefit frauds are willing to go out and do a hard days work … some ppl just don’t get off their asses at all!
Btw I do not in any way condone defrauding our wonderful government
6 October, 2005 at 9:38 pm #150228Tbh…pople who are genuinely looking for work whilst claiming and do odd-jobs on the side just to make a little more money don’t bother me…I mean 40-odd quid a week isn’t enough to live on is it?
It’s the people who are fit and able to wok but are constantly on benefits for years and work on the side as well that annoy me.
Mind you I still wouldn’t grass them up – what goes around comes around, I just mind my own business.

When you say ‘us’ you mean ‘us’ as in the tax payers. Unfortunately there isn’t enough of ‘us’ to pay for what the government needs to cover it’s planned expenditure. Part this expenditure, and it’s not a small part is on benefits. If you are working and not declaring then you are only increasing the burden on ‘us’. However, I do think the minimum wage is too low.
6 October, 2005 at 10:43 pm #150230But IF they put Minimum wage up, they’ll tax people more…
6 October, 2005 at 10:46 pm #150231If they increased the minimum wage then it might be an incentive to get those on their fat asses as Catz says, up and into work. There needs to be a greater differential between benefits and payment for work.
6 October, 2005 at 11:54 pm #150232Can see where he’s coming from, but when the Minimum wage goes up, most companies cut the hours…
6 October, 2005 at 11:55 pm #150233Or get rid of older people and employ teenagers who are on a lower minimum wage…
