Garden birds etc…
I used to love seeing the Red Kites coming into our neighbourhood when I lived in Bedfordshire, they are mahooosive!
I also do like the humble blackbird! (in a non edible way)
5 December, 2010 at 10:00 pm #455714This thread reminded me of a text from a fellow animal lover earlier this week, and given the recent weather conditions it seems pertinent to share it on this thread.
Winter is here and our native birds will soon be finding food scarce. Please go to the pet shop and buy a bag of nuts for our feathered friends. There is no finer sight on a winter’s morning than a pair of tits around your nut sack. Just remember however, it’s a bit early in the year to expect a swallow…
We seem to get a lot of blue tits and finches in our garden, both of which are a joy to watch, and we also have a resident robin who comes right up to the patio doors and looks in at the cats!
Around the rear of the shop there are always several pied wagtails; they always make me smile as they trot around and you see how they got their name :D
