    eve

In the home i shared with my ex we had a lovely back garden. It had an apple tree and a pear tree that had intertwined ( i dont mean interbred. Just wrapped around each other). Got lovely fruit from both but always left some on the tree for the birds to pick at.

As jen said, always put fresh seed and nuts out for the wild birds , hung from the branches so the mogs couldnt get to them.

Also had a buda leia ( not sure if thats right) bush ( butter fly bush) got thousand of butterflys in the summer.

Loved seeing the robins in the winter too .

Was a lovely garden . I love gardens.

we once went up the highlands one Easter. To aberfeldy after spending the day on a secret beach we found. The squak of the baby oyster catchers … aww those wee bairn birds.. we spotted a kestrel in flight. then sat under a tree as the kids ( then) rolled their eggs with a vibration.. ! we looked up and it had thousands upon thousands of Honey bees.
To this day i am visited yearly by Colin.. a friendly crow and we have a Heron that comes inland ! I once took Esmes advice and called the rrspb assuming it was a stork :) Have seen many a Kite and ptarmigan ! Osprey and Eagle..

sheest all this nature on our doorstep !

I have 2 cockatiels that my husband hnd reared. they were abandoned by their parents so my husband actually cut them out the cheeping shell.. little fookers hate me :) and are now 14 and share my bedroom.. eeeek !

    Just so you know..

If you have cats you should actively encourage loads of birds into your garden… I know it sounds silly, but when there is alot of garden birds they watch each other’s back… lots more eyes on the look out. I learnt this on autumnwatch or somewhere like that. I have 3 cats and when I got the cats I took my bird table out of the garden. I am not thinking that maybe I shouldn’t have!
