Not allowed in your household…..yet one of your children celebrates Christmas outside the household….that seems very strange to me…care to explain as I find that very confusing As adults we can allow or not allow anything should we wish so…we live in a world of choice

I have very strong personal reasons for not wanting to celebrate it. It’s best for me not to have constant reminders about christmas everywhere in my home. Maybe allowed was the wrong word to describe it, I don’t know.

Ok…fair enough…so basically you don’t want to be reminded of  Christmas for personal reasons…that’s very different from saying allowed…lots of people don’t want to be reminded of lots of different days for many reasons…it happens

I do not consider myself Christian or a follower of any religion, more or less I guess you could say I am agnostic but I do celebrate most of the Christian holidays simply because I have since I was a little guy. I really enjoy Christmas time because I get to go back to family and friends for a bit and eat a lot of good food and enjoy good games and times! Also as rough as the snow can be at times, it is really beautiful along with the large magnitude of lights that make amazing displays in the neighborhoods.

Hi Laine1. Thank you for sharing your celebration of Yule. Happy Yule to you.

btw, I can’t resist – Christianity was around long before it came to Greece and Rome… before our saviour, it was called Judaism, and we were waiting for our saviour.

    Just fyi. :)

Otherwise, my mum was a Wiccan.

    Draculina,

I really don’t think it’s anyone’s business to question what you do with your household. It’s your choice how to run your household, you are the one who reaps from it. You are the one with the burden of all of the responsibilities and all of the joys. On my threads, at least, you never need feel like you have to explain yourself. Hang in there.. I had periods of times (and still do) where certain favourite holidays are not celebrated for personal reasons. I’ve no idea if it will be the rest of my life, but certainly has been for the last twenty years.

    Peace be with you.
