John Meier’s biography of Jesus – 4 volumes and still going.
Given Meier’s admission at the beginning that we know sweet f anny adams about jesus outside a few wise sayings, a few miracles, a good evening meal after which he was shopped to the cops by one of his mates and then crucified – and that we’re not sure even of those facts – I think keeping this biography going on for as long as Meier’s doing is pretty good.
I’m halfway through Volume 2.

15 May, 2012 at 10:44 am #496560I loved David Niven,s two autobiographical books, The Moons a Balloon and Bring on the Empty Horses. I actually cried laughing at some of the stuff in them and then just cried at some of the other stuff.
Still prefer a good thriller or detective story though. :)
