Mine shows number notifications … that could be a response to a comment on a thread OR a PM.
Its showing I have a private message when I don’t…the notifications are separate…they are in the 100s

Erhum…..surely I’m not the only one with hundreds of notifications….with all the posts going on at the mo I imagine its the same for everyone ….

Ok…I was referring to the notifications when you click your nick top right hand of page here just above messages rather than emails….however are they connected?…ie the notifications are emails sent out? My emails currently go to junk and I do a mass delete though really I should turn them off too

I had seen your question, but I thought it has already been answered by other chatters.
The number in the top right corner refers to notifications — not just private messages. If you hover over the number with your mouse, you’ll see a breakdown of messages/replies/friend requests/comments etc.
Alternatively, just click on the number and a page will load showing all the notifications. From that page, you can also mark them all as read, which will make the number go away (until new notifications are created).
Nope, you thought wrong…..my actual question was never answered ….it was assumed I was talking about notifications…….Drac knew what I was talking about…..anyway it’s still there and I will leave it there

I wanted to avoid notifications being sent to my email address, so I ticked ‘no’, in all the above boxes.
What I didn’t realise though, was that by ticking ‘no’ in these boxes, my incoming messages wouldn’t appear here in JC either.
Thankfully a person pm’ed me last night in the room, telling me they’d been trying to get in touch with me on boards and my settings were set to ‘no messages’,
So if anyone tried getting in touch with me, just wanted to say that everything is back to normal now
Having different issues now…the message I sent no longer appears in my sent box and it says I have an incoming message and that doesnt appear either :(
