only so long can you say that hes a provider, or he gives another option to the team, or hes awkward for defenders to cope with, that novelty will wear off soon

yes, i agree.. when he was playing well for southampton, he never got a look in for england, but as soon as he signed for liverpool hes in the team
and vice versa in heskeys case, has he played for england ever since leaving liverpool, not often i reckon
