Saw her standing there by the Beatles is one of his faves though, so I dedicate that to my old git who is very much alive and kicking and a very funny bloke who I love dearly.

Loving wot I got today, actually made a few tears well up.

According to the reference books, including the New Shell Book of Firsts, Father’s Day was inaugurated in 1910 by a Sonora Dodd (Mrs John Bruce Dodd) in Spokane, WA. Mother’s Day was already well established, and Mrs Dodd thought that fathers deserved a bit of appreciation too, especially as she greatly admired her own father,
