So at long last the report into systematic child abuse in Ireland carried out by members of the Roman Catholic priesthood has been made public.
It makes horrifying reading and will no doubt shock all decent minded people who will be appalled that priests who dedicate their lives to God can spend them instead sodomising young boys.
However, the Roman Catholic priesthood is – to a man – allegedly celibate. I wonder if this abstinence from ‘normal’ sexual activity has a part to play in all this? They take a vow not to have intercourse with a woman but appear to consider it OK to sodomise boys instead.
What if they removed the requirement for sexual abstinence (with females) and allowed the priesthood to indulge themselves in a bit of rumpy pumpy with women instead if pumping the rumps of small boys. Would it make a difference???
