I find it very interesting that in this country other religions get so much promenance over the christian religion – I am not religious & don’t care if people believe in God, Allah, Abraham or Slartibartfast! As long as they do not inflict it on me.

From what I read, what really got up people’s noses was not the muslim day but that a wedding party were told that the park was double booked but they could still use the park as long as they were modestly dressed (all flesh covered) but would not be expected to wear headscarves and would be expected to abide by segregation rules!

I was in Turkey last year – beutiful place with lovely people but thinking back, I noticed that in many resorts westerners were walking around in bikini tops & shorts, going topless on beaches and alcohol was sold everywhere. Saying that, the beaches were not available to Turkish people unless they were able to pay tourist prices (each bit of beach owned by restaurant/bar and was free if you brought drinks or a meal!). In the water park, the only turkish people I saw were workers!

There are 2 ways of looking at this – are we ignoring their rules on modesty etc in their country and imposing our values on them OR, when money is involved, in any custom, anything goes?

Please don’t slag me off too much for this view – I’m feeling pretty vulnerable at the moment!

I have to say you provide me with so much entertainment Drivel. I havent posted on here for 2 weeks and hardly at all in the last 2 months so I would hardly class myself as having most to say.

As I’ve said so many times before, “When in Rome” only applies to “foreigners” here of course and doesnt apply to Brits abroad then- “Do as I say, not as I do” would be more appropriate

A Muslim day at Alton Towers is about as far away from an Islamic takeover as it is possible to get except for those who wish to add their warped perception on it.

And for the record we are a Church of England nation predominantly and I don’t see you waving banners decrying catholicism (I bet Catholic Churches outnumber Mosques 5 to 1) when the Catholic church criticises or is offended by the things we do. Narrow minded, blind and ignorant.

We are not talking about the behaviour of Brits on holiday abroad – we are talking about people coming to live in this country and not giving 2 hoots to our customs or laws

Yes we are talking about all people in other than their own country, on holiday or resident there is no difference

With you views on our country you should definitely emigrate.
