First Robin Williams, next it’s Lauren Bacall
It’s like when Benny Hill and Frankie Howard died on the same day.

oh but Jimmy has already popped his socks and gone to that great Hospital -in-the-Sky.
Robin Williams I wasn’t really keen about. He was really manic, which made people laugh, but it was always humour which was about to break down in weeping – some of those movies were real schlock.
But Lauren Bacall – what a star!! Try to see The Big Sleep with Bogart for fast and funny dialogue.
She’s a model for JC gals as they talk with guys who promise more than they deliver –
“You don’t have to lie to me, Steve. You don’t have to say anything or do anything, not a thing. Oh – maybe just whistle. You know how to whistle, don’t you, Steve? You just put your lips together and……blow”

for the JC chats which just don’t seem to take place in JC – asl???
i dont know if its just me,but if i put my lips together i cant whistle,i can parb and blow my cheeks out doing that,.np i think the secret of a good whistle is to keep your lips apart.
cosy’s post is one reason you don’t get such chats in JC.
Most of us whistle like that, Cosy. In fact, you can’t whistle otherwise.
Unless…….
you have a penny whistle, which is what Bacall has given Bogart.
When you have a penny whistle, there is a an aperture, a hole shaped in a particular way, and the only way to use it is to do what Bacall said. You put your lips together and….blow.
Cosy may not know this, but Steve in the movie did.

From what I can gather, Bacall was talking about real life too when she said that Steve/Bogart knew how to blow a whistle :)
