After all the speculation, Kevin Keegan has been appointed Newcastle manager. Good move in my opinion, being a bit of a fan favourite he’s likely to be afforded more time and that’s been the downfall of many.
16 January, 2008 at 5:42 pm #304527He;s a popular face in the game. I bet old Fergie is rubbing his hands together looking forward to their first meeting
16 January, 2008 at 5:50 pm #304528No prizes for guessing what the talk will be in the run up to that one
I heard Chris Coleman’s name mentioned as well but haven’t heard anything more about it, obviously it’s not the manager’s job anyway.
16 January, 2008 at 7:31 pm #304529Keegan is a good choice to calm the storm, after all,the jobs a poisoned chalice @the minute, most managers won’t entertain a job where a championship standard team is expected to reach European competition, fortunately they’ve been to Old Trafford.Good luck Super Kev your gonna need it.
16 January, 2008 at 11:01 pm #304530Good start, especially considering how poor they looked in the last game against Stoke and the showing at Man U.
16 January, 2008 at 11:47 pm #304531Keegan spits more dummies than Ugo and Anita put together.
17 January, 2008 at 12:21 am #304532Keegan – failed, thinks he’s better than he is, hasn’t won a cup
Newcastle Utd – failed, think they’re better than they are, haven’t won a cupMatch made in heaven… again!
17 January, 2008 at 7:41 pm #304533Before anything, lets see who he bins and buys. As that is needed pronto if Newcastle are to achieve anything in the next season and a half.
18 January, 2008 at 12:02 am #304534Looks like the board are backing him with some serious cash, though I doubt it’ll be quite enough to sign the already alleged targets:
Ronaldhino
Kaka
Drogba
Scott Brown
Deco
Wayne Bridge
Wes Brown
Shaun Wright-Phillipsand any other names the media draw out of the hat

That’ll be the media pissing in the wind as usual. And the bookmakers.
I dont even think they could afford Shearers wage as a 2nd in command never mind the likes of Drogba.
A few months ago they may have been in with a shout for Shaun W P, but not now he is on scoring form. (ive always told my chelsea hubby he will be class).
