I think Ang only appears here now and again to pour her righteous scorn on everyone for coming here. She doesn’t seem to have anything else to say.
In the Great Depression in the 1930s, unemployed men would sell apples on the street to try to scrape together some pennies.
I guess apple women must be the female version.

Well Scep, I certainly would if I had to, or something similar, not fish though, the smell makes me bolk…. I heave opening a tin of sardines for the dogs…
Ang does seem to appear every 6 months or so, reminding us all what it’s like in the ‘real world’, I don’t know what I’d do without her really, as working full time, managing a home, family responsibilities and a small but satisfying social life, I never have time to watch telly or read a magazine….. Thank God for Ang I say !!!!!

If i may add my comments to this most interesting of posts……..I think Shakespeare summed it up (although there is no record of Shakespeare being good at Math)…LOL…..Point being that as the Bard said………beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think in my opinion that women want to look their best and feel their best although there is far too much pressure on them to focus on looking good while not always feeling their best.

I didn’t think Shakespeare had ever written this, but I goggled in order to check.
And he didn’t.
Apparently it was first used in this form by an irish novelist called Margaret Wolfe Hungerford in a novel called Molly Bawn in 1878.
