How do you solve a problem like guests?

As you are probably aware, we ended the trial of making chat forum three accessible only to registered members. That doesn’t mean we have ditched the idea entirely, though.
As part of the ongoing trial, we have now created a members only chat forum. We will be trialling this for one or two weeks and see how things go from there.
Feel free to chime in with your thoughts and opinions — but keep the discussion on topic, please.
I have also added a poll to this thread regarding chat forum three — feel free to cast your ballot.
I think guests should be allowed in F3, why shouldn’t they? because they’re abusive and disruptive ? nonsense. The registered users are equally abusive and disruptive in my opinion.
Furthermore, from my observations, when the room is guest free, it’s dull and quiet, and dies a death around midnight. The guests bring diversity and randomness, and tend to chat much more than the registered users. Only yesterday I scrolled back over the last 100 or so comments and noticed the guests contributed about 95% of the comments. The members only room seems to work well for those that don’t want to mix with the guests. I looked in there yesterday, and there was just one chatter in there. I think the current status works well for all.
Besides, if the guests are unable to enter F3, how am I to go in and abuse the F3 registered users? 😂
P.S. Can you please unban this name from the chatrooms please. It was your former “bent cop” NS that banned it from chat. Thanks in advance xxxx

Keep that room going just for those elite important chatters who don’t want to mix with the riff raff.
You have 2 other rooms, one is for new people who may join.

Lets be honest room 2 has become busier than room 3 and room 1 is picking up. Lets face it darling room 3 is dying a death they all sit in there and hardly chat and when they do its boring crap.
And they really resent newcomers or anyone who is upbeat interesting and funny. They really just want to keep sitting in there with their favourite people never being challenged and talking about the lamest drivel ever. Or just no one talking at all, as long as the people they don’t like aren’t talking then good?
So let them continue to do that and hate anyone else who comes in there with a personality.

Sometimes businesses bring in someone who gets rid of the deadwood. They make redundancies and streamline and think about the future of their businesses. They employ people who will bring in fresh blood and make their business thrive.
It is not always nice being the hatchet man. But in order for any business to thrive decisions need to be made. The future of JC is about newcomers and recruiting interesting people who will contribute to JC.
You may need to get rid of the deadwood xx

Without guests in room three all the people who think they rule chat dominated and made people feel like they couldn’t talk for fear of being bullied or made to feel stupid. The room died no one spoke because the real bullies of JC took over without being challenged. They got what they wanted – no one to challenge argue disagree or talk about any subject they didn’t want discussed. So NO subject was discussed. The real bullies of room 3 took over and made it a no chat zone. Hence why it died.

I would suggest you adopt your terms & conditions to adopt “guests”. Have you read the forums lately? Why don’t you run the chatroom for over >18s rather than ignore then adults?As a guest I`m subjected to numerous clickbaits ( usually adult dating, sometimes ebay, etc) to go somewhere else, perhaps if you could organise the adults in here you would not need to charge 99p for somebody to have their own name.
Have you ever investigated yourself on your conduct Martin? I`ll remind you of an email I sent you regarding your database security which you still haven’t sorted out or replied to!

Few obvious corrections, adopt / adapt. My gran said we are all strangers till we meet but don’t talk to strangers.

The issue here isn’t the guests, its the lack of GOOD moderation in each room.
