Can I download Word from Microsoft or do I actually have to buy it? I have Windows Word but my daughter uses Microsoft Word at school. Not really much difference IMO but the school would like her to have it at home.

So is what you have installed the ‘Microsoft Works’ version of Microsoft Word? If so, I wouldn’t bother purchasing the full version at all.
No Martin I havnt got microsoft works or microsoft word on my pc. I,ve just got basic windows word. Windows word is basic, whereas, I hear microsft word has a few more functions. I,ts just that to buy it, it,s expensive so I wondered if I could download it. If it,s not that much different than basic windows word I wont bother..it,s just that the school use it and they like them to have it at home, and if I could download rather than buy it, it would save me a fortune.
if its word processing software you want, try open office, its usually the default package that comes with a lot of linux distros and also used by mac users, but you can get it for windows as well, and best of all it’s free.

no need to buy again.. google are about to launch a free online office word proccessor that works just like word…
it shall be free, and can be used from any pc in the world
