Classic you wanna play again and again

Jimmy Webb wrote this work-song back in 1968. He told an interviewer, “Some time earlier, I’d been driving around northern Oklahoma, an area that’s real flat and remote, almost surreal in its boundless horizons and infinite distances. I’d seen a lineman on top of a telephone pole, talking on the phone. It was such a curiosity to see a human being perched up there in those surreal surroundings”.
The lineman, alone on the open prairie, musing about love, captured my imagination then, and many since. Alone with his thoughts, switching the line – “if it snows, that stretch down south won’t ever stay the same”; his fatigue about his life -“I know I need a small vacation”; and his yearning – “and I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time”.
Glen Campbell was the first to record it, and not one of the many cover versions ever matched this one

Where would we be without the old and beautiful soulful classics?
Can’t beat Metallica for always appearing in peoples favorite videos although they did make some great music…..not sure if my ears can take the 1000 watt speakers these days though…….LMAO RATF PML
