Initially Villa appeared without the wit to unpick Reading, but Sonko’s clumsy defending allowed the home side to equalise as well as providing them with a crucial man advantage.
To their credit even at a numerical disadvantage Reading were never outclassed by
Villa, but they were unable to really stretch the home side’s defence. We won’t be relegated.

We didn’t play badly, in fact Man City had so much possesion we hardly played at all!
But we have a strong defence, and we need to win our home games if we’re going to avoid the drop.Come on you Rzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

2 October, 2006 at 12:40 pm #236494Thanks Gyps. :D
Your team was robbed by Didier Zokora yesterday.
Until managers fine there players and/or the FA docks points from teams that cheat,
this kind of behaviour that’s ruining the game will continue. It’s very saddening.15 October, 2006 at 2:25 am #236495Reading 0-1 Chelsea
Chelsea (apart from there goalkeepers) were lucky.
Lampard’s free-kick pinged off Sonko on the edge of the wall, and in
pin-table fashion then ricocheted off Ingimarsson’s boot into the net.Match report here.
