Hiya rudeboy. I do book in advance to take advantage of cheap flights. I will maybe use easyjet flying out and Ryanair coming back, whichever is cheapest. Ive just checked now and flights to Krakow for 12 November till 17 November from Liverpool to Krakow would cost you £57 return. This is a great time of the year to go as the weather is still very mild and the outdoor cafes and bars are still outside. In the winter they go under ground. Also if ur interested in visiting Auschwitz this is the best time to visit as you are no longer restricted to being escorted around in groups as it gets very busy in the summer mths. The camp is only 40 miles away from Krakow and easygetting there, i use their great bus services. You may find skyscanner a useful website for comparing flights but remember they use easyjet and Ryanair and they are acting as middlemen any problem that may arise you will have to deal with them. Flying with easyjet from Manchester to Dubrovnik which is in Croatia have some good deals , I recently booked 2 flights for 18 oct till 21 oct for £80 each return. . Easyjet also fly from manchester to Tivat in Montengro which has some wonderful old walls cities Budva and Kotor.both are well worth a visit. Most of the huge cruise ships dock there from all over the world.

Thanks for the response Sophia, unfortunately I can’t book that far in advance with never knowing when I will have time to travel due to various commitments here but agree with you on skyscanner for being a decent website comparing flights and have used them before. I live quite near Norwich airport but still have connections to my home city (Manchester) and have even travelled back there just to use the airport as Norwich is comparatively dreadful for flights.

I used netflights last week to book seats to Toronto in july with BA, They were cheaper than the BA site but book online as it cost more to book over a phone.

Expedia is quite good, the trick is to keep checking prices at different times of the day can mean the difference between saving £300 this is if you are booking both hotel and flights. On some airline sites the flights cost more than the hotel and flight if booked via Expedia.

gems looks very nice..is she in Ukrainian national costume??

Why is Krakow so good? I’ve never thought of going there, but everyone seems to have a lot of good things to say about it.

I think surveys suggested our nice last 3 ish or more summers have led people to have staycations. Whilst the terrorist threats have led to hardly any travel to places like Sharm el Sheikh and Tunisia etc people are just travelling to Spainy places more that’s all.

Personally I would not go back to Sharm any time soon….why go to a place that has a high risk of an attack when you can go somewhere else…..you will say that we are attacked here so what difference does that make….the difference is we live here and here we stay….there are plenty of places to visit than a high risk area….and yes I know anything can happen anywhere in the world…but its just how I feel on those certain countries

Having said the above I will happily travel to America….one of my favourite holiday destinations…its just where you would feel comfortable I guess

On staycations…..ive hardly travelled for holidays in this country at all….my time will come when flying is not comfortable anymore and then I will have plenty of time to travel this country…..also staying home is usually a lot dearer than going abroad….so you might as well spend less and at least get guaranteed sunshine

Ive found googling prices on Friday Saturday and Sunday are dearer than say a Tuesday…..if you are fexible on the day you can travel to some countries Wednesday is the cheapest day to fly out …..also clear your  history regularly when searching for holidays!

Travel Republic is a favourite of mine lately….seems to come up trumps for me

I’ve booked to go to the Algarve this summer for a week with my daughter. Mowgli does his own things these days lol

I got a fab flight/car hire deal with BA & then booked our accomodation through owners direct.

We’ve done all inclusive the last couple of years elsewhere which was ok but gets a bit samey . looking forward to having the flexibilty to explore & experience the real Portugal.

There are good deals to be had if like Kenty says you don’t have to travel over the weekends. My holiday would of been £200 dearer if we flew over the weekend rather than a Monday departure.

Happy holidays where ever you might be going all. :-)
