With the protests following the carrying of the Olympic torch concerning China’s human rights issues, it makes me wonder. Should the Olympics just be a sporting event or should politics and other issues be brought into it? I think it’s great that China is being asked to answer it’s questionable past on human rights issues. Here’s video of Olympic Chief Jacques Rogge, expressing concern about the games:

Ive changed my original stance over this. I objected to China holding the Olympics because of politics.

Now Im over the moon that they are.

    Its bringing the right attention.

Lets just hope they learn from it that the world IS watching and opinions of people WILL change.

I wish a safe olympics to all the athletes involved. And of course hope we do well
