US rapper Rhymefest is in Britain to promote gangster rap and urge Tory leader David Cameron to give it a second chance.
The Chicago rapper – real name Che Smith – wrote to Mr Cameron asking to meet “over a cup of tea” after hearing the politician’s criticism of DJs who play violent songs. Mr Cameron is concerned it could incite street violence.
Both agreed that hip-hop should not be banned, but that rappers had a responsibility to portray the positive side of life in their music.
Rhymefest said he found Mr Cameron “very Bill Clinton-y”, and invited him out to go clubbing and see the rap scene.
He said: “We came to what I believe was an understanding. If you have policy that kills the disease of poverty, then you can kill the symptom of negative rap.”
Mr Cameron said the meeting was “very positive”. His office said he was unable to accept the nightclub date because of his busy diary.

So what Rhymefest is saying, give the rap community a better go in life with folks taxes, and you wont hear lyrics like, http://www.amren.com/rap/rap1.htm
“Niggas in the church say: kill whitey all night long. . . . the white man is the devil. . . . the CRIPS and Bloods are soldiers I’m recruiting with no dispute; drive-by shooting on this white genetic mutant. . . . let’s go and kill some rednecks. . . . Menace Clan ain’t afraid. . . . I got the .380; the homies think I’m crazy because I shot a white baby; I said; I said; I said: kill whitey all night long. . . . a nigga dumping on your white ass; fuck this rap shit, nigga, I’m gonna blast. . . . I beat a white boy to the motherfucking ground”;
“Kill Whitey”; Menace Clan, Da Hood, 1995, Rap-A-Lot Records, Noo Trybe Records, subsidiaries of what was called Thorn EMI and now is called The EMI Group, United Kingdom.
“I kill a devil right now. . . . I say kill whitey all nightey long. . . . I stabbed a fucking Jew with a steeple. . . . I would kill a cracker for nothing, just for the fuck of it. . . . Menace Clan kill a cracker; jack ‘em even quicker. . . . catch that devil slipping; blow his fucking brains out”
“Fuck a Record Deal”; Menace Clan, Da Hood, 1995, Rap-A-Lot Records, Noo Trybe Records, subsidiaries of Thorn EMI; called The EMI Group since 1997, United Kingdom.
Freely published anti-white racism, some of which probably bought by guallable white people, and/or lefties.
Is the “understanding” to rid society of this on the back of our taxes? Weve got to pay to stop anti-white racism :roll:
19 October, 2006 at 5:40 pm #245338Are you stupid or what? You start a thread about Rhymefest’s meeting with David Cameron today in 2006 and then you go on to quote lyrics from a completely different group written over a decade ago. What exactly does it prove except that you’re a complete idiot?
As for the point that Rhymefest was trying to make that went over your head, if governments invest in neglected and deprived areas then it will improve those areas and will help eradicate the problems that are reflected in the lyrics of some rappers. Anyway, rappers and people who listen to rap and other people who live in those deprived areas pay taxes too. Whose responsibility is urban regeneration, policing, housing, youth projects, etc? Is it not the responsibility of local and central government?
There are positive and negative aspects in all types of music and rap is no different in that respect.

20 October, 2006 at 12:08 am #245341Paying racists to stop being racist? What connection does that have to Cameron’s meeting today? None whatsoever. It’s an idea you plucked out of thin air. You put 2 and 2 together and got a headache.
