Awww hugs tinks I know what you mean xx

Loss of my pet was like my heart being ripped out – I was 12 when I got my first pony and he was a frisky 4 year old ………….. he died only a few years ago – we spent 32 years together and I still miss him every day :( :( :(

I`m not fond of cats, never have been but when my husbands grandad died we nursed him, and looked out for the cat. The cat was a funny old thing not really a people kind of cat, I was sat there, after the funeral, he looked at me, I looked at him, I did what his owner dis, patted my thigh and invited him up, he leapt, noble yet giving. I loved that cat, he taught me how to be free, loyal and loving.

I have a dog now, we got him for our daughter but he and I have such a bond, man`s best friend indeed.

Pets are amazing and very, very important, so yes when they are no more we grieve, as we should.

I attempted not to respond on here due to my almost failure, to love anything non Human ! I was never the same after Lucky the 57’er mongrel of my childhood had to be put down after being badly mauled.. I vowed NO more. Until i inherited a couple of runts of the cockatiel variety.Abandoned by their mother, my husband boke them out their shell. and they lives here, in a quiet sanctuary. Me thinking they have a short shelf life. Ye gods the buggers are still with me, and the panic I was in the other week when Pepi elvis sat on top of my new kitchen door thats now a fire door, so closed automatically, removing a toe, talon etc.. son called from mallorca and daughter from a weekend away to check up on such feathered bugger. I near fainted when Sharongooner told me they could live 30 years ! They are about 16 now ! and thriving and still hissing when i attempt to be nice !!

    pair o incestuos fvckers !!

    :) i bet i cry like a bairn when they go ..

cats dont like me, especially the well bred siamese ones, and they say cats are a good judge of character ! hell !! nemesis even the tiger at edinburgh zoo, tried to get through the safety window to get at me. Was snoozing till i got to the window, my thoughts were ” how cruel keeping this beauty behind glass “,, it awoke and tried to eat me,, ! well bugger thinking that it was cruel ( joking) ..

I got my dog from Battersea Dog’s Home when he was a frisky/bouncy 6 month old, a bit of this and that, because I was lonely during the day when the kids were at school. Oh boy has he filled his role, talk about part of the jigsaw missing in family life – you don’t know it until it has been completed. That was 12 years ago now, and apart from going grey round the muzzle and a bit elsewhere, and also looks like Bambi gone wrong when he gets his ball or starts his morning walk (like a 6 month old), I would love him to go on for another 12 years!! I know that won’t happen, and oh boy when he does ‘go’ I don’t think I will be liveable with for quite some time. Absolutely dreading it tbh. I know to cherish him ‘now’ and I am taking photos all the time.

Condolenses to all who have loved and lost a treasured pet mwa mwa xxx
