We throw a big garden party every summer for family and friends; trestle tables are loaded up with food and drink and hubby’s band limbers up with a few tunes to set the sheep jigging with the cows. However, this year the weather has been too atrocious to dare to circle a date in the diary for anything more al fresco than an impromptu picnic.

The weather did hold but it was quite dull and a little cold
I wore my coat most of the time
but there again I am old (Oh I’m a poet)
I left pretty early thoughthe idea of pis sed sheep made me laugh
