A fair few years ago on a diff site where my mate gave me the name “BOM” we would put a candle in a window on the nights of Remembrance Day and Armistice Day to pay our respects to those who gave there lifes for us.Here is how my home will look tonight.Feel free to join me and post a pic of your window tonight.

I really don’t know whether I should be posting on this thread, or start another.

I decided to add to this one as two remembrance threads seem excessive.

If Somer thinks it’s not in keeping with the spirit of his thread, I’ll apologise and start another.

I’m remembering not just the British soldiers who died in the Great War, or subsequent wars, but the soldiers of all countries who died.

I’m remembering not just those soldiers of all nations who gave their lives for their particular country, but soldiers everywhere who had their lives taken away, often conscripted to fight in a war without justice or reason.

I’m remembering not just the soldiers, but the many innocent civilians who were butchered by the armies who fought those wars. When war breaks out, Evil tends to take a hold, and great cruelty often occurs, from all sides.

10,000 people from all walks of life came to the cenotaph today to say thank you to the soldiers killed in the Great War.

    Thank you very much.

if the Unknown Soldier could speak, I wonder what we’d hear him say….

    And when they ask us,

and they’re certainly going to ask us…….
