So I’m at home tonight, watching Bridget Jones Diary, and I hear a man call his wife a “Daft Cow”. Now, I’ve seen this phrase used on here before and I can’t help but wonder, is that normal? Is that a term of endearment? I know if my sister called me a cow or vice versa, we’d be having words. Just curious.

Yes, and you Australians are so sane.
Thanks Tommy – I guess that makes sense. I actually like the phrase and would love to use it. But I think people would look at me funny.

It can be said in a jokey way…but if my OH called me it he’d be in serious trouble because it show a lack of respect.
15 May, 2006 at 1:40 pm #218010So it’s either an insult or it’s said in jest – depending on how you say it. I’d still love to say it to somebody over here. They’d think I’ve lost my marbles – which is somewhat true so maybe it’s appropriate.
Thanks for the responses.
