    Mysterq. P.S.

Don’t you be laughing either at what proposed to sceptical guy…you not out of the woods either…. using Charles Swindoll….that version of 10 percent and 90 percent application..my goodness challenge to you or him, wondering…

Laughing here, never forget first year in college, in my late 30’s early 40’s. Took long break from the educational universe, you will note. I complained so often with Professor of philosophy simply going to fail, let me drop course, begged for removal..guess I was his challenge. 15 weeks of a nightmare, reluctance in saying much (know hard for you to believe, and feeling my brains fried and mush, learned about some philosophers. My opinion often they came together basically in the end with most same ideology, when some stupid wrench thrown in the mix, new ideas because of that little open space allowing it to fit through. Make sense…??
Well after all that crazy 15 weeks don’t ask how final grade “A” applied, but never laughed so hard with any Professor, thanks for grade, see ya later, and ran like hell never ever taking that type of course again……
    Smile..
So give little time as well with Swindoll and you.. on my reminder list to look up and do…Hee Hee….

I copied that statement as it was quoted but i would have used the word respond rather than react if i’d invented it.

Reaction implies that one is impetuous and acting with out taking time to think properly where as responds implies that the individual has taken time to think about the situation at hand and the best possible way to deal with it in a much calmer way.

    Linda,

    Dostoevsky on Smerdyakov, not Smerdyakon.

Smerdyakov was a character in Dostoevsky’s novel, The Brother Karamazov. He was continually trying to copy the intellectually superior but spiritually empty Ivan Karamazov, and his pathetic attempts at sounding intelligent held a mirror up to Ivan. It was like Ivan was being ridiculed by Smerdyakov’s very existence, to the point where he shouted out ‘how can such a man exist’?

Dostoevsky is a very powerful writer. I read the Karamazov  when i was 17 and it blew my head off. Einstein apparently wrote his theory of relativity after reading karamazov.

But it’s a long Russian novel, like War and peace. If you can, read the chapter called The legend of the Grand Inquisitor. You should be able to google the whole chapter.

War and Peace is a great theme…..and it’s a long one…LOL   Thing is…..You can have war and peace and you can have peace then war. Some say…without war, there can be no peace and others say, without peace, there’s no excuse to have a war. I say, just go for peace at all times and there won’t be any wars…or very few.

Definitely my mantra from now on…wasted far too much time on people who don’t deserve it!

Life is too short,  So spend it with those positive people in your life…not those who suck everything good from you and walk away

Make the most  of the time you have x x x
