Can’t see that – just look at the way Zenit handled Bayern. If we let them play then we really could be punished, playing the waiting game doesn’t work all the time. But we need to make sure we don’t waste posession, that’s been a problem for us recently.
14 May, 2008 at 5:52 am #317736The Cardigan wont change tactics at this stage John. The formation will be defensive, set up not to lose goals, and trying to nick one on the break.
Anyways, Cmon Zenit, send these dreamers homewards to think again.
14 May, 2008 at 1:16 pm #317737Personally, I never thought I’d see Rangers in a European final so regardless of the result I’m a happy man.
They’re really in a lose-lose situation. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t. I see nothing wrong with doing what you have to do to win and not every team plays like that so I don’t think Rangers will cancel football worldwide by playing defensively and to their strengths. ‘If’ wishes were fishes I could feed the world.
Ricksen doesn’t like it, Messi doesn’t like it, I’m not a big fan of it myself but if that’s what’s required then it’s good enough for me. Win or lose tonight, it’s already a good result.
14 May, 2008 at 6:00 pm #317738He’s went 451 by the looks of it. Davis & Whittaker look like they’ll be out wide as Novo isn’t starting and Thomson has made the team. Though I think it’s a shame that McGregor hasn’t won his fitness battle. No disrespect to Alexander, but I reckon Al deserves it more.
Alexander
Broadfoot (jury’s out on that one though, depends which Kirk Broadfoot turns up. The one who’s actually a decent footballer or the accident prone donkey)
Weir
Cuellar
Papac
Davis
Ferguson
Thomson
Hemdani
Whittaker
DarchevilleLet’s see some anti football and toys being thrown from prams by those who wouldn’t mind being there one more time :D
14 May, 2008 at 6:05 pm #317739:D What a defensive looking team. Old man Smiff has outdone himself.
Cmon Zenit.

14 May, 2008 at 6:12 pm #317740Hope ya’ll grabbed the 0-0 draw after 90 mins at 7-1. If not there’s still time to nip doon the Bookies.
14 May, 2008 at 6:13 pm #317741And I reckon with the players he has out wide, he has a couple of decent attacking options (Whittaker only needs to see the goal to tempt him into a shot and Davis is good going forward) But if we have to bore them into submission, then so be it.
14 May, 2008 at 7:41 pm #317742Total garbage.
Any neutral would have turned off after 10 mins. There’s only one team trying to play, and they dont wear Blue.
14 May, 2008 at 8:05 pm #317743A really dissapointing first half. Hope this half is better.
14 May, 2008 at 8:36 pm #317744how the hell did they get to the final?
