It was a concept dreamed up as a form of social control by the rich landowners in feudal times to keep the peasants in order.

Are you saying you’re a peasant or that the feudal system is still relevant today or both?

For whatever reason the Royals became they have been here for 100’s of years. I am not a royalist but I do like the boys.

I can trace my family tree back 500 years. Born into the Charlton family my heritage lies in being a border reiver. Raping, pillaging and ransacking others fortunes. Therefore once upon a time my family would have been peasants. More recently (victorian and edwardian) my family were rich land owners in Northumberland, the product of ill gotten gains no doubt. I have some of the jewellery and hairpins that my great great grandmother owned… tortoise shell and whitby jet! Alas my great grandad had a little problem with a gambling streak and lost many of the businesses and land he owned! Grr lol
So no am not a peasant but my ancestors were!
