It depends what they say. Abu Hamza got his just desserts for preaching hatred, hopefully other islamist firebrands will be looking over their shoulders and if BNP activists go as far as inciting racial or cultural hatred they should get the same treatment.

There is a fine line between legitimately defending your own cultural values and stirring up hatred of other cultures.

Does anti-hatred legislation cover Northern Ireland too, I wonder? Or perhaps there aren’t enough prisons over to cope!

I agree with Emma, let’s not waste our taxes on prosecuting these nazis. Just crucify them upside-down and then set the crosses on fire (poetic justice). Glad we finally see eye-to-eye Emma.

I don’t know why you have to ask, surely you know they’ve been wasting them for about 9 years.

So you agree the BNP (Nick and Mark) were not inciting racial hatred?

    BNP website, 30th june:
“15:20 hrs BST…..News just in……Nick Griffin and Mark Collett are to face a full retrial commencing 30th October. Reporting restrictions are in place which prevents us going into detail but readers will be familiar with the background.

This is a political move to try and jail two key people in the BNP leadership team and to waste several hundred thousand pounds of taxpayers’ money in the process.

This is nothing more than State sponsored persecution of two men who dared to challenge the Labour regime and mention the Islamic fifth column in our midst. “

Free speech, but not if your the leader or member of a rival legal political party.

How would YOU feel, if YOU dared to challenge the political elite, scare them with policy they know could gain millions of votes in the future, and they tried to bang you up on mickey mouse charges, how would you feel?

Is it wrong to describe how you feel, in a private meeting? Isnt that a free and democratic human right of expression?

Should YOU be persecuted for doing such a thing?

    Should they…

Were they asking those present to take some sort of action against another group of people

They suggested so, as do all political parties.

were they merely stating political policy or viewpoints

    That aswell.

OK. But is there any info about what they actually said anywhere? It all seems a little hush-hush and I can’t find anything completely factual ( not being a Master Googler like some on here!) so I can’t think about it properly.

Nick griffin called Islam “a wicked vicious faith”.

Muslims have said in public, “death to England” etc, without punishment, so it cant be wrong to say what Nick said.

On the one hand it sounds like persecution and on the other the CPS seem pretty sure of their case.

The CPS are just doing what their political masters tell them to do.

I’d be there supporting the defendants if I could find some actual facts to base an argument on, rather than the logical fallacies on the BNP sites or others you have listed.

The BNP are quite open about this case, they have to be, they know unless new labour go bent, they will win. If NL go bent, the BNP will claim martydom (is that how you spell it?).
When the BNP win AGAIN, they will claim support, they know that.

I mean things like “the meeting was held in private” is not actually a defense against the accusations and is merely an attempt to change the argument into one which is winnable for the defendants.

Arnt people allowed to defend themselves
Should YOU be persecuted for giving your opinion in a private meeting?

Remind me… isn’t inciting racial hatred an offence in law???

Didn’t Britain hang lord haw haw? Let’s string up these nazi propagandists too. String them up and then beat them down with sticks like pinatas. Fun for all the family.

Looks like you’ve pulled Mr B.
