I have to choose my words carefully to pass the site rules. When folk claim they are experts on every subject known to man, they usually aren’t. Despite their explanations that have a vague logic, but are inaccurate.

There are a couple of issues with the testing in that video, but they do appear to be functional. The main problem I have with the testing was that the lorries were empty, which reduces the momentum that has to be absorbed by the bollards. Assuming that they still work as efficently it looks like the contents of the lorry would not be decelerated and still cause injuries in a crowd which isn’t ideal. The other issue is that they are very slow to rise, which limits how effective they would be for automatic deployment.

I still don’t think they would stop a tank from driving either through or over them, which you promised. But I will admit I was wrong on this issue, it is possible to design bollads that can stop a lorry.

I can and could post countless utube videos, links to military sites etc. The problem is internet experts know it all. They would argue blue is black, grey is green, they don’t debate based on FACTS, factual evidence, They debate on what they assume they know, about every subject under the sun. A never ending discussion.

It’s not about facts, is it, with know it alls, it never is.

I can’t tell if you’re talking about me or not. But you showed me evidence, and I changed my position in response to it.

We live in world where technology is so advanced, a satellite can read your number plate from space. A man (or woman) can be traced, recognized and killed by drone bombers thousands of miles away. Swarms of robot drones will make the next generation Trident obsolete before it is even built. Tanks and Lorries (but particularly lorries, HGV’s if you like) utilized as weapons are so behind modern technology, antiquated, it is like night and day. It all boils down to one issue, which has been touched on, cost. How much are states willing to pay.

    B-)

Hopefully they don’t have to pay anything, these attacks are preventable with the right policies.

I don’t think I ever claimed to be an expert, and i’m not. But I have talked to a lot of people about these topics, and i’ve done my own research on them.

If you want to know specifically what my connections to islamic terrorism are, I have a Belgian friend who I have not been able to contact since the day before the Brussels attack in March. The only conclusion I can come to is that he was one of the casualties. I have also experienced one of the so called ‘sharia zones’ in France first hand. So I suppose I am more motivated to stop these things from happening than the average person.

I’m not sure if that is relevent to the attack at all, but it is a bad idea to let people who are not properly qualified to drive lorries because their nationality.

It seems like the attack might have had support from within the Tunisian government though. They denied he was a Tunisian national to avoid him being deported from Germany, and within 24 hours of the attack they provided paperwork proving his nationality, potentially allowing him to return and avoid prosecution. I’m not familiar enough with the German legal system to know exactly what this means though.
