Good to see Wiggo win after his achievement of winning the Tour de France and Olympic time trial gold, though it has to be said that there were some superb sporting successes this year and all the twelve nominees deserved to be on the list.

Looking forward to the Tour next year as it will be in our region and probably less than 10 miles from us on the 11th of July (maybe even closer depending on the route) and on the 12th the stage starts from Tours so a second chance to see it.

Well deserved indeed J….. and the Tour de France will be started in Yorkshire in 2014…. fantastic achievement for our region.

I agree it was such a difficult decision this year so many deserving winners I was disappointed that Hannah Cockcroft wasn’t a nominee…. but I suppose they had to draw the line somewhere :?

It is great to see the Tour de France will start in the UK and be there for three days in 2014.

I watched the Tour of Italy on TV this year (in german on my eurosport) when it started in Denmark

Sport has the habit of transcending boundaries and borders which is a good thing – though it is sad to see the attitude in a few eastern european countries

I dont think people realise what a big deal it is to get the tour de France to come here …. its massive.

My son in law is a keen cyclist… hubby got a bike three years ago. He proclaimed it was going to be fantastic and he would be fit as a fiddle in no time. First time out he cycled to a friends about nine miles away…. he rang me to pick him up….. after three years the bike is still in the friends garage waiting to be picked up. :D :D :D

Ah but Mrs T it is really your fault

You have not given your hubby a lift back to his friends so that he has cycle home

;) you could always get your hubby to give you a lift to his friends and you can ride the bike back

of course the other option is sell it on e-bay and buy an exercise bike or a new sofa

People nominated in order to fulfill BBC ‘quotas’.
    Deserving people ignored.

Not arguing with the overall choice of Wiggo at all.
    Top man.

    But really, and in the words of J.Lydon . . . . .’Have you ever had the feeling that you’ve been conned ? . . . . . ‘

lol i said that very phrase to moon tonight.. when the stranger was in pats and used well worn cliches. We discussed fine resturants and turkeys ! the stranger tried baiting us so we agreed with most things they said. Then they left and we howled laughing at the tame kinda convo,, the filth only started when you arrived. poor “pokey” was well conned :)
