Strong in your Heart

As I lay here
With a smile
Happiness in my heart
I look up to you
In the depth of your eyes
I see darkened shadows
Is this pain physical?
Which you endure
If so, is failure by me
I deserve you no more
Deeper into your eyes I travel
They glisten and begin to swell up
Tear drops, one by one they form
Now I fear the pain you receive
Is not of the flesh but of the heart
In loving abyss I did not intend to hurt
So why this pain, do you feel
As you raise your hand
Breathless you become
Covered in blood
Though no surprise upon your face
“Hold on, please don’t leave me” utter from your lips
“I would never leave you my darling”
Why would she think this? For our love is so strong
Then the shiver
The shock
The realization
It is me and my time has been blessed
“My love, you have my heart and will forever be with me,
Even though my body will perish,
I will be with you forever.
I shall watch over you, to ensure your happiness
We can not be parted for our love is our bond.
My flesh and my bones, you shall bury.
Do not mourn me.
For I live on within you.”
I draw my final breath
Watch you fade from my sight
Still I feel your presence
Knowing all will be alright
