Iv’e found it interesting that no one has yet mentioned (apologies if i’m wrong) but this woman was interviewed for the teaching assistant job by a man, and she wasn’t wearing a veil in the interview, but suddenly her argument is that she wishes to wear it in the presence of a man

Emma……………I agree with Esme, regarding the being able to put your head above the parapit etc., All I ask, is the same common respect as people of other faiths, whatever they may be, I really can’t see where you can find anything racist in what Esme said, but maybe you could enlighten me.

On Thursday night I watched ”Question Time” (yea i know, borin aint i  ) where one of the topics discussed was the speech by Prince Charles, and his possible intention of,,,,,,at his coronation, changing constitution and hailing himself ”Defender of Faith” as opposed to THE faith. People are saying because he would be head of the C of E church, like his mother, he’d be wrong. The jurys still out on it far as i’m concerned, but I can see his point. Do you think this would be a racist move Emma, and if you do, why?

And her husband walks around in western jeans, a decent looking designer jacket and western haircut (some might consider him fairly good looking)…….

Bring out the guillotine, that would stop all this cobblers about the monarchy and their role in the C of E. It’s all a load of balls anyway.

The bottom line here is that whether the New Labour apologists like it or not, and whether the multiculturalists get over excited about it or not – this country is still a ‘Protestant’ country; the Established Church is the Church of England (or Anglicans if you prefer); and the reigning Monarch is still its titular head.

I believe the majority of people who regularly attend church are Roman Catholic, and with the influx of Eastern Europeans this figure has been substantially bolstered.

However, churchgoers are a minority in the UK and merit no political sway.

Yes I totally agree with you. The Roman Catholic church seems to have a much greater attendance across all age groups than the Protestant churches.

It’s interesting however, that although C of E attenders are pretty uncommitted to their church, in terms of regular church going that is, they are heavily represented by the Lord Bishops in the House of Lords.

That is true! but as soon as they have a baby they are the first ones to want a christening!

any excuse for a drink! sod the kids for the day and get drunk and fob the child off with the grandparents!

i find that the majority of parents who get their children christened these days tend to be in it for the drink
