Most excellent Esme =D>
Tauber was a big deal in my house growing up! So much so , my Father taught a very young yours truly how to sing You Are My Heart’s Delight and Vienna, City Of My Dreams :P .
Maybe one night when I’m suitably inebriated I’ll inflict my own particular versions on you

2 August, 2008 at 4:16 pm #358402The Rite Of Spring – The Adoration Of The Earth
Composed by Igor Stravinsky
Performed by The Los Angeles Philharmonic
Conducted by Esa-Pekka SalonenThis is for all you pagans out there :P .
Causing riots upon it’s premiere, many see this groundbreaking piece as perhaps the first ever modern orchestral work.
I particularly like this extract.. from it’s gentle beginning and rhythmic build up, through to one of THE greatest pulsing string sequences a little over three minutes in, then on to the wild abandon of the pagan dance towards the end.Uber 8)
