    The Road Not Taken

    Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
    And sorry I could not travel both
    And be one traveller, long I stood
    And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;

    Then took the other, as just as fair,
    And having perhaps the better claim
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
    Though as for that the passing there
    Had worn them really about the same,

    And both that morning equally lay
    In leaves no step had trodden black.
    Oh, I marked the first for another day!
    Yet knowing how way leads on to way
    I doubted if I should ever come back.

    I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
    Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
    I took the one less travelled by,
    And that has made all the difference.

    One Too Many Mornings

    Down the street the dogs are barking
    And the day is getting dark
    As the night comes in a-falling
    The dogs’ll lose their bark
    And the silent night will shatter
    From the sounds inside my minds
    For I’m one too many mornings
    And a thousand miles behind.

    From the crossroads of my doorstep
    My eyes start to fade
    As I turn my head back to the room
    Where my love and I have laid
    And I gaze back to the street
    The sidewalk and the sign
    One too many mornings
    And a thousand mile behind.

    It’s a restless hungry feeling
    That don’t mean no one no good
    When everything I’m saying
    You can say it just as good
    You’re right from your side
    I’m right from mine
    We’re both just too many mornings
    And a thousand miles behind.
