nope still dont see how I or anyone is a xenophobe.

I do see your point and i agree, any kind of human suffering is wrong and unjustified.

HOWEVER, my point is Ireland one of the poorest of the EU Countries. If we cant afford to look after are own, how can we support others??

The Irish youth are amount the biggest in economic immigrants in the past few years,
There are just under 400,000 people (On this very small Island) on the dole.
There are over 3,000 homeless in Ireland
There are STILL the Bosnian’s we have NOT re-homed, they are still living in a holiday village being supported by Irish Taxpayers.

Main land Europe is better off – bigger place to live, more money to go around then Ireland.

And as for the Irish Government taking in refugees – cant say for sure they are refugees due to them NOT being screened. What i can say for sure this shìt whole of a Country lets the media run it not the people or those elected in to parliament.

Hang on a min Scep ….. I never said anything of the sort on THIS thread about immigrants appearing to be mainly male & nor did ANYONE else.

Cross threading is never a good idea.

Yes, that’s a serious point, Lucy.

And you’re putting it in a way which doesn’t sound inhuman.

There are arguments which can be made against refugee policy, which have to be treated seriously – and I’ll try to.

but I’ll post that elsewhere, because i don’t want to give any dignity to this thread, which has its fair share of rather contemptible contributors such as the wanna-be Jeremy Kyle who followed you.

All that’s needed here is my first post, and my defence of that post.

For the last time scep this thread was a joke. if it upset you you shouldn’t have posted on it. You have turned it into something its not. So here it is i am not right wing and if i was its up to me. yes i support Alex Blackman and think this country sh1t on him. You go on and on about the people drowning but wtf about people who lost there lifes when planes where flown into the towers? short memory? Well i was out there a month later seeing the photos of the lost, people hoping they would turn up. I still think your god squad so stop trying to ram it down my p155ing neck!!

    Somer, there’s jokes and jokes.

I give way to nobody in revulsion against the crimes of 9/11 and after, or in the war policy pursued by the US and UK governments which led to many, many more deaths, helped to rip the region apart, and has led directly to this wave of refugees which could prove impossible to handle.

The pic was an appropriate response, reminding people of the suffering of the refugees.

Arc, I don’t remember mentioning you. Could you point out where you were mentioned??

I didn’t say you posted that pic. Somer posted it after your scare-claim that terrorists were being infiltrated in with the refugees. Some creep thought somer was funny as feck on the second post.

You also seem to find it funny.

You (and arc) said that people appeared to be male, on the basis of a few television shots of a few people. In fact large numbers of women and children are being drowned as they risk death to escape war. Millions upon million of people have now fled Syria, mainly to Turkey and surrounding countries – they all men??

No, that pic was relevant in the context of this thread. It was a pic about suffering, and an important one.

    There scep :)

Yes, I was correct in saying that.

You and Trapper said that the refugees seemed to be mainly male.

You both said that your evidence was on the basis of television images.

The reality is very different, and television images of a few hundred people are not the basis of judging the gender and age make-up of the millions of refugees form Syria and Libya.

    What’s the problem?
